Upcoming Projects | 2027 Q1 & Q2

Stories Beyond the North aims to promote intercultural collaboration. The podcast seeks to amplify the often-marginalized voices of entrepreneurs, nonprofit leaders, artists, and cultural changemakers of Global South backgrounds. Interviewees will be asked to share how their community, civic, and business engagements advance intercultural social innovation. The podcast promotes greater civic literacy and encourages youth participation across communities by providing insights into actionable strategies for change-making.
The workshop will explore the theme of Caribbean and Latin American contributions to the Canadian Multicultural Mosaic through three (3) dialogues (activations):
• Afro-Caribbean Groups in the Canadian Mosaic;
• Afro-Latino Groups in the Canadian Mosaic, and
• Asian-Latino Groups in the Canadian Mosaic.
The workshop is entitled “Caribbean and Latin American contributions to the Canadian Multicultural Mosaic.” The main aim of the project is to build a deeper understanding of lived and living experiences of Indigenous, Afro-, and Asian-Caribbean and Latin American migrants and their descendants, while exploring their cultural contributions to Canadian society. The sessions are interactive and welcome the public to engage with aspects of these BIPOC communities’ shared and distinct histories, the present moment, and their aspirations for the future.

Cultural Engagement

We will deliver a 3-day workshop to train participants to conduct market analyses, technical feasibility, financial feasibility and operational feasibility studies using 3 projects co-designed by the cohort.
We will deliver 7 weeks of capacity building and employment skills training, 5 weeks of on-the-job training through partnered internships, 12 weeks of experiential and research methods training, and provide mentorship support to advance economic opportunities for our racialized participants.
We will deliver a 3-week workshop co-designed by two (2) cohorts with leaders from non-profits focused on developing strategies for accessible and accurate communication to combat climate nihilism. The cohorts’ strategies will inform the design of an arts-based mental health and climate action framework, which will be incorporated into two (2) community arts events.
